532 Jobs Cut at Voice of America and USAGM

“Kari Lake, President Trump’s top adviser to the U.S Agency for Global Media (USAGM), announced Friday night that 532 positions were nixed at USAGM and Voice of America,” The Hill reports. In a post on X, Lake said the layoffs were ordered by President Trump “to help reduce the federal bureaucracy, improve agency service, and save the American people more of their hard-earned money.”

Trump-Pritzker Feud Continues – As Does the Violence in Chicago

President Donald Trump called Illinois Governor JB Pritzker “incompetent” in a Truth Social post on Saturday and warned him to “straighten it out, fast, or we’re coming.” Pritzker pushed back, calling Trump’s approach “unconstitutional” and “a dangerous power grab.” Meanwhile, six people were killed and another 24 wounded by gunfire over the last weekend in Chicago alone.

Putin, Modi, and Other World Leaders Meet for Summit in China

“Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are among the twenty world leaders attending a regional security summit in China,” according to the BBC. China’s President Xi Jinping is also holding talks with Modi separate from the summit in the port city of Tianjin.

“The prime minister of Yemen’s Houthi-run government and several other ministers were killed in an Israeli strike on the capital Sanaa, the head of the Houthi Supreme Political Council said on Saturday, in the first such attack to kill senior officials,” Reuters reported. Also killed in the strike were the energy, foreign, and information ministers. Al-Mashat did not clarify whether Defense Minister Mohamed al-Atifi survived or not.

Pam Bondi Fires DOJ Employee Who Flipped Off National Guard Soldiers

Attorney General Pam Bondi terminated a Department of Justice paralegal Friday after the employee repeatedly made obscene gestures and cursed at National Guard members stationed in Washington, D.C.,” The Daily Caller reported Saturday evening. “Elizabeth Baxter lost her position in the department’s environmental division after an investigation revealed multiple incidents this month of her flipping off National Guard soldiers.”

A defiant Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Monday vowed he “would constitutionally declare a republic in arms” if US military forces deployed to the Caribbean attacked his nation in an attempt to topple him.

54 Shot in Chicago Over Holiday Weekend

Violence in the Windy City ran amok over the Labor Day weekend as officials in the Democrat-run metropolis continue to vigorously oppose Trump administration plans to send in the National Guard to restore order. “At least 54 people have been shot, seven fatally, across Chicago over [the] weekend, including a drive-by attack that left seven victims wounded, according to police,” ABC News reported Monday.

Trump Says He Will Award Presidential Medal of Freedom to Giuliani

Two days after he suffered serious injuries, including a spinal fracture, in a car crash in New Hampshire, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani learned he will be receiving the nation’s highest civilian honor. President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that US forces dispatched to the Caribbean had carried out a maritime assault against drug traffickers tied to Venezuela. He said 11 alleged members of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang were killed in international waters.

Judge Rules Trump Violated Federal Law By Sending National Guard Into LA

US District Judge Charles Breyer of California ruled on Tuesday that the Trump administration illegally used military troops in Los Angeles when ordering the National Guard into the city back in June to help support Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Breyer claimed the endeavor violated the Posse Comitatus Act, an 1878 law that bars the use of military forces for domestic law enforcement.

Trump Suggests Arming Qualified Teachers to Thwart School Shootings

President Donald Trump on Tuesday proposed that trained teachers should be allowed to bear arms in the classroom to prevent school shootings.

“We have great teachers that love our children. The parents love the children and teachers love the children too, and if you took a small percentage of those teachers that were in the military, that were distinguished in the military, that were in the National Guard, etc., etc., you let them carry,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “They’re trained, they know about weapons…. I always thought that would be an alternative.”
