Trump Threatens 100% Tariff on Canada Over Chinese Trade

President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 100% tariff on Canadian goods entering the United States over a trade deal Ottawa made with China. This week, Canada and China established a trade agreement: Ottawa would allow up to 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles, and Beijing would reduce its tariffs on canola oil. Trump had previously said Carney negotiating a deal with China “would be a good thing.”

Man Killed in Minneapolis Following Incident With Federal Law Enforcement

A man was shot and killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 24 during an incident with federal law enforcement. The victim, Alex Pretti, was shot several times in the chest before being transferred to the hospital. Officials said at a press conference that police officers applied life-saving aid before he was taken to the hospital. “Based on the information we have, which is very limited, this is a 37-year-old white male who is a Minneapolis resident, and we believe he is an American citizen,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told reporters. “We have not been told any official reports of what has led up to the shooting.”

Iran Revolutionary Guard Says Tehran Has ‘Finger on the Trigger’

Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, told a local news outlet that Tehran has the “finger on the trigger” after President Trump warned that an “armada” was traveling to Iran. “The Islamic Revolutionary Guard and dear Iran stand more ready than ever, finger on the trigger, to execute the orders and directives of the Commander-in-Chief,” Pakpour told Nournews.

Snowmageddon: Snow, Ice Span 1,300 Miles Across United States

A massive winter storm continued traveling across the United States on the weekend, spanning 1,300 miles from Texas to New England. Snow and ice are still heading East. Power outages have been observed in several states, and hundreds of thousands of homes could lose power over the coming days as more than half of the country is expected to suffer subzero wind chills over the next week.

Video Shows Alex Pretti Kicking ICE SUV 11 Days Before He Was Shot

A newly released video appears to show Alex Pretti, the anti-ICE protester who was shot and killed by ICE agents last Saturday, spitting at a federal SUV and kicking the taillight, damaging the vehicle. Agents then exited the SUV and tackled him to the ground. Critics say the video shreds arguments that Pretti was a harmless observer. The video, apparently taken on January 13, also shows an item resembling a gun in his waistband. Pretti was killed on January 24.
