European Leaders Laud Trump’s Ukraine Peace Plan

Scores of European leaders praised President Trump’s 28-point peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. In a joint statement on November 22, a coalition of European leaders stated that the US administration’s proposal contains “important elements,” but requires “additional work” for peace to persist. Ukraine and Russia are currently reviewing President Trump’s initiative, and some leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, say the plan should have included Kyiv in the negotiation process.

DNC Takes Out $15 Million Loan Ahead of Off-Year Elections

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) took out a $15 million loan as its cash reserves have been running low. New fundraising data indicate that the national party borrowed money last month amid crucial off-year elections in New Jersey and Virginia, as well as a redistricting referendum in California. “We can’t win elections or fight back against Trump if the DNC downsizes operations like it often does after a presidential cycle,” DNC Chairman Ken Martin told The New York Times in a statement. “I made a bet that investing early would build power, rack up wins and rally supporters back to the table. That bet is paying off.”
