DHS Confirms Milo Yiannopoulos Deportation

Controversial right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Officials confirmed on Aug. 28 that Yiannopoulos had been detained at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana after he chose to “overstay his welcome” in the United States. The federal agency said a day later that Yiannopoulos, a 2024 presidential campaign official for the rapper Ye, had been deported to his British homeland.

37 Dead After Strike on Kyiv

At least 37 people have died, dozens have been wounded, and hundreds more have been evacuated near a residential area just outside of Kyiv. A Russian drone attack hit a depot storing weapons for Ukraine’s military, resulting in the detonation of drones, mines, and shells. The incident damaged local properties, including an elderly care home.

US Military Hits Iranian Launchers to Prevent Sea Mines

US forces “struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island on Sunday, according to US Central Command spokesman Commander Tim Hawkins,” CBS News reports. “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces were observed preparing to launch rockets with sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz, Hawkins said. CENTCOM said it completed clearing sea mines from the shipping routes in the Strait last week.”

NASA Launches Revolutionary New Space Telescope

NASA on Sunday launched its next-generation, cutting-edge Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope “aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida,” the agency announced. “Roman pairs a large field of view with crisp infrared vision to explore vast swaths of the sky and probe deeply into cosmic history. This flagship mission will help astronomers explore dark matter, dark energy, and worlds outside of our solar system, known as exoplanets. Its surveys will support a broad range of research extending far beyond the mission’s main science goals,” NASA writes. “Roman is exactly the kind of success story we want to see across NASA,” NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman stated. “Delivered ahead of schedule and on budget, this mission reflects more than a decade of dedication from the NASA workforce and our industry partners.”

Iceland Voters Reject Proposal to Restart EU Accession Talks

Iceland’s voters have “rejected restarting negotiations to join the European Union in a referendum that pitted concerns about geopolitical stability against keeping national control of the country’s prized fisheries, officials said Sunday,” the Associated Press reports.

Multiple People Shot, Two Dead at New Jersey ‘Unauthorized Adult Gathering’

“Trenton and Mercer County [New Jersey] police are investigating a mass shooting that happened just after midnight Sunday that left two dead,” The Trentonian reports. “Officials said ten people were shot; two of them were killed.” “The Prosecutor’s Office said the two who were killed were a 33-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man. The block party was attended by approximately 100 people, according to the county investigation,” the paper relates. “Multiple suspects walked up to the party and began to fire into the crowd,” officials stated. Mayor Reed Gusciora said the shooting occurred at a “large, unauthorized adult gathering” on a residential street.

SCOTUS Again Clears Construction of Trump White House Ballroom

The US Supreme Court on Monday “again sided with the Trump administration, allowing construction on the White House ballroom project to continue while the case continues to be litigated in the lower courts,” Fox News reports. “The Court split 5-4 in granting the emergency request. The decision replaces a temporary order Chief Justice John Roberts issued just hours before a lower-court ruling blocking the work was set to take effect.”

Duffy Orders 270 Trucking Schools Closed in Illegals’ Crackdown

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Monday “shut down 270 commercial driver’s licensing (CDL) schools for offenses including graduating illegal alien truck drivers who can’t speak English or offering subpar training facilities,” The New York Post reports. “If you’re here illegally and you can’t speak the language and you’re not well-trained, you don’t deserve to be in a big rig, driving American roads, endangering American citizens,” Duffy said at a press conference in Detroit. “Duffy announced that his department was removing 110 CDL schools from the federal Training Provider Registry, forcing them to ‘immediately cease all operations,’” the paper details. “The schools had been found to have trained 5,000 enrollees later found to be unable to speak English.”

FTC, 22 States Sue Amazon Over Alleged Ad Price Duplicity

The Federal Trade Commission and 22 states on Monday “sued Amazon over allegations that the e-commerce giant secretly inflated prices in its online search advertising auctions, potentially costing customers tens of billions of dollars,” CBS News reports.

Trump: US Launches ‘Large and Powerful’ Strikes Against Iran

The US military on Tuesday conducted massive attacks on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post. “The strikes are large and powerful, and in retaliation for the Iranians’ failed attempt at adding sea mines to the Strait, which currently has no mines (they have been completely removed or detonated!), and the Iranians shooting eight missiles, all successfully knocked down, at our Military Base in Jordan,” Trump wrote. “If the failed Nation of Iran retaliates for this very justified attack, they will be hit again at a much harder and higher level, but it will not be the biggest attack of them all, that is waiting in the wings and, when it is over, there will be very little left of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

NYC Random Stabbing Victim Was Bank of America VP

The woman killed “by a knife-wielding maniac in [New York City’s] Times Square was a young executive at Bank of America – who had recently celebrated her wedding anniversary,” The New York Post reports. “Erin Piacenti, 32, of Chester, New Jersey, was fatally stabbed near the Crossroads of the World on Monday afternoon before the suspect, who also wounded an elderly man in the violent rampage, was shot dead by police. Piacenti was employed by Bank of America in New York City, working as the Vice President of Business Selection and Conflicts,” the paper details. “Pamela Cisneros, 49, had whipped out a pair of kitchen knives and stabbed the first victim, a 68-year-old man, in the abdomen after he exited the subway on West 41st Street. Cisneros then continued up to 42nd Street and fatally stabbed Piacenti. The crazed woman was then cornered by police officers, who shot her dead when she charged at them.”

Father of Girl Disabled in Illegal Alien Crash Blasts Hill Dems

The father of a 7-year-old girl left permanently disabled after an illegal alien “driving an 18-wheeler slammed into the vehicle she was traveling in tore into Democratic lawmakers during a fiery Capitol Hill hearing Tuesday, rejecting their expressions of sympathy and accusing them of failing families like his,” Fox News reports. “‘I reject your guys’ sympathy,’ Marcus Coleman, whose daughter Dalilah suffered a fractured skull, broken femur and traumatic brain injury in the 2024 California crash, told lawmakers during a House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement hearing on sanctuary policies across the United States,” the network relates. “She didn’t ask for any of this,” he added. “The people that jumped the fence did though. They knew exactly what they were doing. They still chose to move forward in that direction. And every day something’s happening to somebody, and it is your guys’ fault. I hold each and every one of you responsible for it, and I always will.”

Eight Democrats Join House GOP in Condemning Socialism

The House on Tuesday “adopted a resolution to denounce socialism ‘in all its forms’ in a political messaging exercise ahead of the November elections,” CBS News reports. “The House adopted the resolution in a 220-192 vote, with eight Democrats voting with all Republicans in favor. Two Democrats voted present.” “In a statement ahead of the vote, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries [D-NY] said he would vote against the resolution because of the SAVE America Act inclusion,” the network notes. “House Republicans continue to desperately push toxic voter suppression legislation instead of working to make life more affordable for everyday Americans in the midst of a searing cost-of-living crisis. House Resolution 1490 explicitly calls for enactment of the so-called SAVE America Act, which is the top legislative priority of far-right extremists,” Jeffries declared.

Three Dead in Minneapolis Shooting, Three Officers Wounded

Three people were killed, and four were injured, in a Minneapolis shooting on Wednesday. “Three police officers were among those hurt, and the suspected gunman was among the dead,” Fox News reports.  “Seven patients were brought to a nearby hospital, the Hennepin Healthcare Medical Center told Fox News. Three patients with gunshot wounds underwent surgery, the hospital said. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison called the shooting ‘horrifying,’” the network relates. “My deepest thoughts are with those killed and hurt, including the police officers injured,” Ellison said. “I pray for their quick recovery. I fully support responding law enforcement and my office will help in all the ways possible.”

Chevron to Double Oil Operations in Venezuela After Trump Deal

Chevron said on Wednesday that it will “invest $7 billion in Venezuela over the next five years and double its oil production in the country after receiving additional acreage in the crude-rich Orinoco Belt region,” CBS News reports.

DOJ Says States Must Report Illegal Aliens or Lose Federal Funds

In a press release on Wednesday, the Justice Department issued a new legal interpretation “clarifying that when a state chooses to participate in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs, all agencies within that state – not only those that administer TANF or SSI benefits – must report individuals known to be not lawfully present in the United States to the Department of Homeland Security.”

House Rejects Resolution to Limit Supreme Court to Nine Justices

House Democrats on Wednesday blocked a “proposed constitutional amendment to keep the Supreme Court at nine seats, with the measure falling short of the two-thirds majority needed to pass,” NBC News reports.

Federal Judge Blocks Trump’s Latest Birthright Citizenship Order

A federal judge on Wednesday temporarily “blocked an executive order from President Trump that again seeks to restrict birthright citizenship,” The Hill reports.
