Shipping data indicate that an increasing number of commercial vessels are traveling toward the southern region of the country, stocking up as Iran restricts movement in the Strait of Hormuz.

The truce between Russia and Ukraine during the Orthodox Easter weekend did not last very long. The 32-hour ceasefire, declared by the Kremlin, failed as Kyiv claimed that Moscow struck Ukrainian areas with drones. “The ceasefire is not being observed by the Russian side,” Serhii Kolesnychenko, a communications officer for the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade, told The Associated Press. Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced a ceasefire and ordered forces to suspend hostilities beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday and well into Sunday. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called it a “humanitarian” gesture by the president.

Trump: Pope Leo ‘Weak on Crime,’ ‘Terrible for Foreign Policy’
President Donald Trump on Sunday slammed Pope Leo after being on the receiving end of veiled criticism by the Roman Catholic pontiff over his immigration and war policies. “Pope Leo is weak on crime, and terrible for foreign policy,” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post. “I like his brother Louis much better than I like him, because Louis is all MAGA. He gets it, and Leo doesn’t! I don’t want a pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. I don’t want a pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a country that was sending massive amounts of drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our country. And I don’t want a pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, in a landslide, to do, setting record-low numbers in crime, and creating the greatest stock market in history.”
GOP Rep. Burchett Urges Trump to Release All UFO Files
Republican Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) on Sunday called on President Donald Trump to release all federal government files on UFOs and aliens from outer space. “It’s not about little green men, it’s not about dadgum flying saucers,” Burchett told Fox News in an interview. “It’s about what are we spending tens of millions of your dollars on when some alphabet agency tells me they don’t exist and then again, another department within that department tells me they do exist.” “It’s like I told President Trump – peel back the layers of that onion, let America decide if we can handle it. I think we can handle it,” he continued. “I have some ideas about what it is, I’ve been briefed on some things and yeah, they’re pretty wild. And I think America needs to know that stuff, and we need to know what the heck were spending the money on to study.”

Vance: Up to Iran to Take Next Step in Peace Negotiations
Vice President JD Vance on Monday declared the onus is on Iran to re-launch stalled peace negotiations to end its war with the US. “The ball really is in their court,” Vance told Fox News. “There really is, I think, a grand deal to be had here, but it’s up to the Iranians, I think, to take the next step.” Vance stressed that Iran needed to be stripped of any enriched uranium in its possession. “We must have the enriched material out of Iran. We must have their conclusive commitment to not develop a nuclear weapon,” he continued. “And I think that if the Iranians are willing to meet us there, then this can be a very, very good deal for both countries. If they’re not willing to meet us there, that’s up to them.”

During the first 24 hours, no ships made it past the US blockade and six merchant vessels complied with direction from US forces to turn around to re-enter an Iranian port on the Gulf of Oman,” US Central Command said in a statement. “The blockade is being enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. Mohsen Rezaei, the military advisor to Iran’s supreme leader, vowed on Wednesday that Iran will sink US ships in the Strait of Hormuz if American military forces attempt to “police” the vital shipping waterway. “Mr. Trump wants to become the police of the Strait of Hormuz. Is this really your job? They can definitely be exposed to our missiles and we can destroy them.”
