American Flag Raised at Embassy in Venezuela – A First Since 2019

The American flag was raised Saturday over the US Embassy in Venezuela for the first time since 2019. The move follows several statements of support from President Donald Trump for Nicolás Maduro’s successor, acting President Delcy Rodriguez, who has tried to keep communications open with the US since taking power. The flag was raised “exactly seven years after it was taken down,” according to the Embassy team.

Formula 1 Calls off April Races Due to Conflict in Iran

Formula 1 was scheduled to hold Grand Prix races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia next month, but officials announced the races would be canceled as a matter of safety due to the fighting in and around Iran. The races were scheduled to take place April 12 in Bahrain and April 19 in Saudi Arabia.

Hamas Calls on Iran to Not Target Middle East Neighbors

Hamas, a Palestinian group backed by Iran, has called for Iran to not target its neighboring countries in the Middle East. While the group affirms Iran’s “right to respond to this aggression by all available means,” it “calls upon our brothers in Iran to not target neighboring countries,” according to what amounts to the first ever public statement from Hamas regarding Iranian policy. It also called on those targeted countries to stop hitting Iran in response.

Tucker Carlson Claims CIA Is Monitoring Him Over Iran Communication

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claims the CIA is monitoring him in order to “frame” him for a crime related to his communication with individuals from Iran. “So, the other day, I found out that the CIA is preparing some kind of criminal referral against me – a crime report – the Department of Justice, on the basis of a supposed crime I committed. What’s that crime? Well, talking to people in Iran before the war,” Carlson said in a video posted on X. “They read my texts.” Carlson said the alleged crime is related to the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

Top Iranian Official, Commander Killed

Two Iranian leaders, Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani, were killed in strikes Monday night, according to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz. Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) shared video of strikes on Iranian targets on X, writing, “U.S. forces continue to hunt and destroy Iranian targets that pose threats to Americans and Iran’s neighbors.”

Cuba to Allow Nationals Living Abroad to Own Businesses on Island

Communist Cuba on Monday announced that “Cuban nationals living abroad in places such as Miami will be allowed to invest in the private sector and own businesses in their homeland, the country’s economic czar” told NBC News in an interview.
