Canada, UK Support US Operations in Iran
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said they support US actions to stop the development of Iran’s nuclear program. Both leaders said neither country participated in the strikes. “Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from threatening international peace and security,” Carney said in a speech at the Canada-India Growth and Investment Forum in Mumbai. “Canada’s position remains clear: The Islamic Republic of Iran is the principal source of instability and terror throughout the Middle East, has one of the world’s worst human rights records and must never be allowed to obtain or develop nuclear weapons.”

Trump Mourns Dead US Soldiers, Warns ‘There Will Likely Be More’ Casualties

Massachusetts Loses 180,000 Residents in Five Years
The flight from a very blue Bay State is in full rush. “Massachusetts recorded a net loss of about 182,000 residents to domestic out-migration from April 2020 to July 2025, according to an analysis of the state’s workforce by the Pioneer Institute. The free market think tank noted the population decline is equivalent to losing roughly one and half Cambridges in that period,” Fox Business reports.

Supreme Court Backs Parents in Transgender School Fight in California
The US Supreme Court on Monday barred California from enforcing state rules that restrict when school officials can notify parents of a student’s decision to come out as transgender. “We conclude that the parents who seek religious exemptions are likely to succeed on the merits of their Free Exercise Clause claim,” the Court wrote in an unsigned ruling, which came on a 6-3 vote. “The parents who assert a free exercise claim have sincere religious beliefs about sex and gender, and they feel a religious obligation to raise their children in accordance with those beliefs,” the Court added. “The [parental] right protected by [stated] precedents includes the right not to be shut out of participation in decisions regarding their children’s mental health.”

President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that the US Navy will be available to guide shipping vessels through the embattled Strait of Hormuz, a key entry point to the Persian Gulf, as the joint US-Israeli military operation against Iran continues. “Effective immediately, I have ordered the United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to provide, at a very reasonable price, political risk insurance and guarantees for the financial security of all maritime trade, especially energy, traveling through the Gulf,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “This will be available to all shipping lines. If necessary, the United States Navy will begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, as soon as possible. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday that the war with Iran is “just getting started.” “We are accelerating, not decelerating,” Hegseth told reporters at a Pentagon briefing. “Iran’s capabilities are evaporating by the hour, while American strength grows fiercer, smarter and utterly dominant. More bombers and more fighters are arriving just today.”
“The evidence in front of us” was “that Iran had no intention of actually negotiating a nuclear deal that truly meant they … did not have a pathway to a nuclear bomb,” said Hegseth. “And the intelligence that we saw, saw they didn’t intend to do it in good faith, that they had the intentions eventually to get to a place where they could have that, a conventional shield to block their nuclear capabilities.”
Iranian President Tries to Justify Military Strikes on Its Neighbors
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reached out to his neighboring countries on Wednesday, attempting to reassure them that Iran respects their “sovereignty.” Iran has launched numerous airstrikes inside multiple Persian Gulf nations in response to its military conflict with the US and Israel. “We tried, with your help and through diplomacy, to avoid war,” Pezeshkian wrote in an X post. “However, the American-Zionist military attack left us with no option other than defending ourselves. We respect your sovereignty and still believe that the stability of the region must be ensured by the countries of the region themselves.”
