MTG Calls for ‘New Way Forward’ After President Trump Withdraws Support

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said on November 15 that there needs to be “a new way forward” after President Donald Trump withdrew his support for the GOP lawmaker, spotlighting the widening dispute. “I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” she wrote in an X post. “And it truly speaks for itself. There needs to be a new way forward.” Greene also pointed out the “toxic political industrial complex” in today’s climate. The president took to Truth Social in a lengthy post this week, calling her “wacky” and saying that all he sees is the Georgia Republican “complain, complain, complain!”

Iran Says It Seized Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on November 15 that it seized an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz the day before. The Talara tanker was sailing under the Marshall Islands flag and was traveling from the United Arab Emirates to Singapore. Tehran officials say the tanker was “in violation of the law by carrying unauthorized cargo.” The Strait of Hormuz is a vital international shipping route for crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

President Donald Trump on Sunday urged House Republicans to release the so-called Epstein Files. The lower chamber will be voting Tuesday on a measure to force the Justice Department to publicly reveal all documentation it has on late pedophile sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

President Donald Trump on Sunday had harsh words for Indiana Republicans who declined to pursue a redistricting plan in the state legislature that would add seats in the US House for the GOP. He called on party voters to back primary challenges against those he says are responsible for the inaction.

The United Kingdom has announced that it is taking strong new measures to deal with the immigration crisis affecting the nation. “Britain said it would make refugee status temporary and the wait for permanent settlement would be quadrupled to 20 years under the country’s most sweeping overhaul of policy on asylum seekers in modern times,” Reuters reports.

President Donald Trump on Monday said $2,000 tariff dividend checks will “probably” be mailed out to low- and middle-income American citizens by mid-2026.

Tennessee Judge Halts National Guard Deployment in Memphis

Davidson County (Tennessee) Chancellor Patricia Head Moskal on Monday ordered the National Guard to be withdrawn from crime-plagued Memphis. “The 35-page court order was filed late on Nov. 17, with Moskal saying Gov. Bill Lee’s authority to deploy the National Guard is ‘not unfettered,’” The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
