President Trump has expanded his tariff discussions to include geopolitics. As the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand escalates, the president warned that he would withhold trade agreements with the two countries unless they reached a ceasefire. The border crisis has resulted in 32 deaths and the displacement of thousands of people. Later, following conversations with the two leaders, Trump confirmed on social media that the two sides are inching closer to establishing a truce.

11 Stabbed at Michigan Walmart, Suspect in Custody

At least 11 people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, on July 26. Eleven individuals were being treated at a hospital in the northern part of the state. An investigation is underway, and the details are limited, but authorities report that a suspect is in custody.

Israel Resumes Aid Airdrops in Gaza Amid Widespread Starvation

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on July 26 that they would resume airdrops of aid in Gaza. In recent weeks, reports of widespread starvation have emerged, prompting countries to engage in humanitarian assistance. Israel confirmed that more than 250 aid trucks have already been unloaded this week, and resources from about 600 trucks have been distributed throughout the Gaza Strip.

“Union Pacific said on Tuesday it would buy smaller rival Norfolk Southern in an $85 billion deal to create the first US coast-to-coast freight rail operator and reshape the movement of goods from grains to autos across the country,” Reuters reports. “If approved, the deal would be the largest ever buyout in the sector and combine Union Pacific’s stronghold in the western two-thirds of the US with Norfolk’s 19,500-mile network that primarily spans 22 eastern states,” the wire service writes.
