Democrats Still Want to Impeach; Republicans Still Don’t

The Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are trying to impeach President Trump. This means they want to remove him from his job as leader of the country.

The Democrats’ case is based on a letter written by a whistleblower. Whistleblowers are people who tell on the government – or “blow the whistle” – when they think the government is doing wrong. This letter said that Trump had asked for a corruption investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden.

Ten years ago, Zimbabwe stopped printing its own money because it had lost its value. Since the Zimbabwe dollar was not worth much, people carried wheelbarrows of money to buy a loaf of bread. Now, for the first time since 2009, Zimbabwe is printing its own money again.

Inflation is seen in all countries – this is when prices rise over time. For example, a candy bar is costs more today than it did 50 years ago. Because inflation happens over such a long time, people can get used to it. However, Zimbabwe was suffering from hyperinflation, a faster, out-of-control version of inflation.

Red Tide: The Deadly Algae Hits Florida

Karenia brevis algae – commonly called “red tide” because its colorful blooms turn coastal water red – is appearing on Florida’s western shoreline, and it’s not pretty. Red tide triggers many negative consequences.

Sea creatures suffocate and die because the algae chokes off the oxygen in the water. It can also cause health problems for humans.
